Double Trouble

Hey, all! Lots of exciting things happening. :)

Digital Monster Ver. 20th (Brown/Red)

Name: Ace
Species: BanchoMamemon
Level: Ultimate (Mega)
Age: 9 Weight: 6g
Single Battle: 83% Win
Tag Battle: 82% Win

Name: Rusty
Species: Mugendramon
Level: Ultimate (Mega)
Age: 8 Weight: 51g
Single Battle: 85% Win
Tag Battle: 82% Win

Ace and Rusty Evolved to Ultimate!!! 8D I'm relieved they did, too, because those tag battle opponents were getting harder. ^^' Interestingly enough, Rusty evolved first, even though he was younger. I realized afterward, though, that Ace tended to go to sleep an hour or two earlier than Rusty, and since sleep time does not count toward evolution, Ace had to play a little catch up before he could evolve. There have been all sorts of new tidbits about how to obtain the secret eggs in these versions, and I'm hoping that my experiments in connecting these two with my older devices prove fruitful. I also feel a little bad but....I also can't wait to see what new eggs will be unlocked after Ace and Rusty live out their lifespans. ^^'

Digital Monster Ver. 20th (Blue/Gray)

Name: Cosmo
Species: Agumon
Level:Child
Age: 1 Weight: 21g
Single Battle: 66% Win
Tag Battle: 100% Win

Name: Bean
Species: Piyomon
Level: Child
Age: 1 Weight: 15g
Single Battle: 100% Win
Tag Battle: 100% Win

Welcome Cosmo and Bean to the show! Yes, I pick weird names, but I like them. :P I originally wanted to only raise one set at a time, because running four Digimon, even on just two devices, starts to make me feel like I'm running a puppy mill or something. XP But I did want to be able to check out all the extra features on these new V-Pets, so I grit my teeth and started these two. I'm aiming for BlitzGreymon and Aegisdramon for these guys' final forms.

I also got a snazzy little car key remote holder to protect them in my pocket if ever I take them anywhere. It's turned out to be handy, and fits them perfectly! X)

Ridin' in style!

Anyhow, that's all for now. Chao!

They Grow Up So Fast!

Whew! Ace and Rusty have grown rather quickly compared to a regular Digimon, but I've had to have them paused (which means I use the 3-hour sleep feature a few times while I'm at work) during which time they do not grow. It's been really fun to raise the version 5 Digimon (Rusty's current line), and to see some of the new Digimon Bandai added via the internal battle mode. It's also been fun to battle them online as they've evolved! X) (More on that later.)
Ace and Rusty in their current forms.

Digital Monster Ver.20th

Name: Ace
Species: Mamemon
Level: Perfect
Age: 5 Weight: 6g
Single Battle: 84% Win
Tag Battle: 89% Win

Name: Rusty
Species: MetalTyrannomon
Level: Perfect
Age: 4 Weight: 41g
Single Battle: 87% Win
Tag Battle: 89% Win

We've got to about 61/71 total single battles and 34/38 tag battles. (Yeah, we've run up against some tough customers, but sometimes it only takes switching who is the vanguard and who is the rear guard.) I'll confess, I was worried that these two weren't going to evolve at all, but hopefully we'll see these guys all the way to Ultimate/Mega. :) For a while, they were Tyrannomon and DarkTyrannomon, and it was cool to have that "twin" set, but I'm excited to see them progress.

Just some pics I snapped of their progress. :)
And as I mentioned, I was able to get some snapshots of Ace and Rusty as they battled their way through their online opponents.

Anyhow, that's all for now! More in a couple of days.

A Very Harry Anniversary!

Hey, all! So, I realized something funny the other day. I hadn't known that the first Harry Potter book was released on June 26th, 1997. This just so happens to be the date that the original Digital Monster virtual pet was released on! 😃 Sooo, I did a little drawing to celebrate:

I have a feeling Hagrid would love these little guys. :)
So exciting! X) Now on to the update!

Digital Monster Ver. 20th

Name: Ace
Species: Tyrannomon
Level: Adult/Champion
Age: 1 Weight: 20g
Single Battle: 80% Win
Tag Battle: 100% Win

Name: Rusty
Species: Gazimon
Level: Child/Rookie
Age: 0 Weight: 15g
Single Battle: 81% Win
Tag Battle: 100% Win

Say hello to Rusty! They grow so fast---literally! :) He's already at the child stage and we'll be expecting to get him to adult tomorrow. I'm hoping he evolves into DarkTyrannomon so that they'll match before evolving further.

I also have had a chance to visit the Digimon D-1 Grand Prix site that Bandai has set up for the tournament later this year. You can battle the computer there, too, and I've already done some matches. It's rather fun and exciting that we're getting the tournament revived--if I'm honest, it's a childhood dream come true. ^^' When I was younger, I read the Digimon V-Tamer manga, and it captured my imagination, along with the v-pets, which is why I still have such a fondness for them today. If you want a little bit of history on the D-1 Grand Prix, check out these articles here. Here's a snapshot of part of my battle history:

That Biyomon and Patamon are really tough! :/
Well, that's gonna be all for now. Till next time! :)

Let the Digimon 20th Anniversary Run Begin!

I am so stinking happy to finally be starting this up! :D The Digital Monster Version 20th came for me on Saturday, but I had some work to catch up on so I waited until Sunday afternoon to start him up. I had thought my order would be two brown/red ones, but I’m happy I got a blue one, too, since I think there’s a version-specific Digimon on each one. I will probably just focus on the red/brown one first so I can enjoy the device a little more thoroughly. Here are some pictures of their arrival and my unboxing:

And now, to the report!

Digital Monster Ver. 20th
Name: Ace
Species: Koromon
Level: Baby II/In-Training
Age: 1 Weight: 10g

As soon as Ace here evolves to Child/Rookie level, we'll be able to choose our other Digitama. I'll probably choose the Version 5 egg, since I've never been able to raise those characters before! X) There are so many little quirks about this v-pet that are exciting to find out. The single training is pretty easy--it's just mashing buttons. He also doesn't sleep with the lights off--you just have to tuck him in and he's good. :P The screen turns off after a while, which is a nice battery-saving feature. I also recently discovered the website where we'll be able to battle them, which I'm super stoked about! Once they evolve to a little higher level, I'll see if I can take them online.

Mothra Tamagotchi
Name: Thomar
Stage/Species: Batora Grub
Age: 5 Days  Weight: 20 Tons
Justice Meter:100%

In other news, Thomar changed into the Batora grub, which I’ve never had before! Hopefully we can stay on track for the character we want. I might be keeping him on pause for a little while so I can focus on the Digimon Ver.20th, but he will be back! :)

Summer Return!!!

Hey, all! It has been quite a while. Things got super crazy there for a while, but hopefully I will be back to posting regularly (perhaps not every day, but at least once or twice a week).

I regret to inform you all that our Osutchi and Mesutchi ran out of battery power before I had time to finish their multi-generational run. :( I hope at some point to complete a full, honest-to-goodness run. It's difficult because the batteries do run out kind of fast and the Osutchi in particular likes to randomly reset. Rest in peace, Lyman and Suzie.

I went on a trip to Utah to visit family, and while I was out there I ran a new virtual pet, the pedometer-based "Dragon Quest Slime Virtual Pet". It was a fun one to run, but required a lot of shaking and walking around. I will perhaps give it another run in the near future, but for now I'm waiting on the 20th Anniversary Digital Monster which is coming here in the next week or two! 😂 *excitement off the charts*

Also while I was out of town I ran two of the lower-maintenance Digimon I have, my Mini V2 & V3. They ended up as Centarumon & Devimon respectively. I'm not running any of them now, but thought I would acknowledge their existence. It's only fair. ^^'

And now, on to our current run!

Tamagotchi Mothra

Name: Thomar
Stage/Species: Mothra Larva
Age: 2 Days  Weight: 10 Tons
Justice Meter: 75%

I have always liked the Mothra, mainly because you can get the Godzilla secret character. :P But I'm going to be trying for one of the other secret characters, Ghogo. Thomar is an anagram of Mothra, and yes I couldn't come up with anything better. I didn't just want to call him "Mothra", though. ^^' Managed to capture his first moments of life, as well as his current stage. As a baby, he reminds me a little of the Morino Tamagotchi.

Digimon Pendulum 2.0 - Deep Savers

Name: Gon
Species: Pukumon
Level: Ultimate (Mega)
Age: 13 yr. Weight: 26g
Battles: 33/35 Win Percentage: 94%
Type: Virus
Battle: O  Jogress: X

So I am letting Gon here finish out his life before the new Digimon show up, rather than mercilessly taking the batteries out or keeping him in eternal limbo until they run out. ^^' I was rather happy to get him, though, because he was the first Mega/Ultimate I have got on my Pendulum 2.0. He was assisted in getting here by Calcifer, my Pendulum 3.0, and Zeke, my Pendulum 1.0. Calcifer has this weird habit, though, of not evolving past Perfect/Ultimate when I try to Jogress him as Phantomon. It's kind of frustrating because I want to see Piedmon, darnit! :/

Anyway, that's all for now. Catch you all later!

Rest in Peace, Arthur the Giromon...

It is indeed with heavy heart, that I must report the passing of Arthur the Giromon. He was 19 years old, which is a full life for a Digimon. After a fairly busy day, I unpaused everybody and promptly fell asleep. When I got up, poor Arthur was gone. To commemorate his passing, here is one last sketch of his evolutions:
You will be missed!

 Digital Monster Ver.3 (Final)

Name: Arthur
Species: Giromon
Age: 19
Battles: 30/30   Win Ratio: 100%

Battle Record (all): Yaskamon, Zulongmon, Cyclomon (Injury), Woodmon, Submarimon, Wendimon, MetalMamemon (injury), Etemon, Cyclomon (injury), Gabumon, Paildramon, Upamon, Angewomon (injury), ExTyrannomon, Hououmon/Phoenixmon, Devidramon, Frogmon, Yanmamon (Injury), Tyrannomon, WaruSeadramon, Gargoylemon, Shurimon, Pharohmon, Wargreymon, Datamon, MegaSeadramon, Snimon, AeroVeedramon, Otamamon.

Rest in peace, partner.

Osutchi & Mesutchi

Name(s): Charlie “Chuck” Brown & Lyman
Species: Billotchi & PetitChocotchi
Discipline: IIIIIIIIIIII
Age: 15   Weight: 58G

Name(s): Peppermint Patty & Suzie
Species: Billkotchi & PetitChocotchi
Discipline: IIIIIIIIIIII
Age: 15   Weight: 56G

Chuck and Patty are still here for now, though I expect that after tonight, they'll be leaving Lyman and Suzie in my care. The kiddos got sick a couple of times, but thankfully I was awake for both those times. ^^'  I believe that Lyman and Suzie are the fourth generation, and their kids will complete the cycle.

Tamagotchi Connection V3

Name: Ben
Species: Violetchi
Age: 4  Weight: 31lb
Training:  IIIIIII
Gender: Male
Generation: 1

So, Ben changed today, immediately after I unpaused him. I was a little disappointed that he turned into a Violetchi, since that character is technically considered a girl in later versions. :/ He's just in touch with his feminine side, I guess!! We played with some of the items that he couldn't use when he was younger, including a Nyatchi  costume. :P

Digimon Unlimited App

Name: Talon
Species: Cockatrimon
Age: 1   Weight: 20G
Battles: 0/0   Win Ratio: 0%
Type: Data
Battle: O  Jogress: O
Evolution Meter: I

Talon changed today during everything going on today. I'm not for certain, but I might pause him tonight and resume raising him at another time. Now the question is, which Digimon do I raise next? Another classic v-pet like Arthur, or one of the Pendulums? Comment if you have a preference!

And finally, I have a little bonus! I got a couple of the cheap, knock-off Tamagotchi from China that I could use for the spare screws. I decided on a whim to give one of them a go and see how they were. I was actually surprised, because it actually functions a little better than the other ones I've used for spare screws. I only kept it on for a while, though. :P Anyway, that's all for tonight!
